Özet

Bu yazıda kaygı kavramı incelenip literatür taraması ile birlikte sunulmuştur. Kaygı kavramının çeşitli tanımları sunulup çeşitli başlıklar altında incelenmiştir. Kaygı; psikolojik teoriler, korku ile olan farkı, patolojik nitelikte vs. patolojik nitelikte olmayan kaygı, sosyo-kültürel etmenler gibi başlıklarda incelenmiştir. Psikolojik teoriler başlığı altında psikanalitik teoriler, davranışçı ve bilişsel teorilerin kaygı kavramına olan bakışı, tanımları, oluşma süreçleri vb. incelenmiştir. Kaygının korku ile olan farklarına kısaca değinildikten sonra kaygının patolojisine giriş yapılmıştır. Kaygının sağlıklı bir seviyeden çıkıp patolojiye dönüşme süreci incelenip bunun ayrımı tartışılmıştır. Bilimsel araştırmalarda ve klinik değerlendirmelerde sosyo-kültürel etmenler göz ardı edilmemelidir. Psikolojik tedavinin başarısında kişiye göre modifiye edilmiş olması önem taşır ve bilimsel araştırmalarda kültürel hassasiyetle yapılan araştırmalar daha doğru sonuçlar verebilmektedir. İlerideki çalışmalarda sosyal-kültürel etmenler göz ardı edilmeyip bireysel tedavilerde ve toplumsal araştırmalarda yer bulmalıdır.
